Project Description

Scope of Work

  • Located some 350 meters from the Holy Haram - it would be the largest central air conditioning plant in the world with a total capacity of 60,000 tons.
  • Phase I - 14,400 tons of refrigeration. It is currently operational and provides comfort to visitors of the Holy Haram Extension.
  • Chilled water at 42 deg.F. (5.5 deg.C.) is pumped through the 44" (110 cm.) diameter preinsulated black steel pipelines to cool the Holy Haram Extension. The differential temperature design is based on 24 deg.F. (13.5 deg.C.) yielding a return temperature of 66 deg.F. (19 deg.C.).
