Saudi ARAMCO has awarded five contracts worth more than $100 million covering the expansion and upgrade of 12 bulk plants across the kingdom.
The local Arabian Bemco Contracting won two contracts, covering the northwestern and southwestern regions of the kingdom. Under the lump-sum-procure-build (LSPB) contracts, the contractors will install tanks, unloading skids, transfer pumps and two shipping pumps and perform all associated civils works as well as structural, piping, electrical and instrumentation works. The expansions will increase existing storage capacity to meet demand requirements up to 2010 and enable Aramco to receive and store two grades of gasoline.
Bemco and the local Metal Services for Trading & Contracting (MSTC) were also awarded bulk plant construction and expansion projects last year.
